African Caribbean Elders Group, Hopewell subgroup meets at the Welcome Centre Combating social isolation by coming together to play dominos, cards and music with a cup of tea & chat with other older people in the area. Home visits people to reduce isolation & encourage participation in the group. Free but donations welcome
All activities are dementia and age-friendly, carer-focused, culturally appropriate, language-specific, inclusive, and locally based.
Our primary base remains at Woodville however due to increasing demand for the activities, limited space at Woodville and to reach wider communities we have satellite sessions across Cheetham and Crumpsall, accessed by people across North Manchester and beyond.
